In another episode of: “well, there’s nuance here” In another episode of: “well, there’s nuance here”: Is it “SAFER” to use a seat belt vs lower anchors? Maybe? The opposite could also be true. Both methods are totally safe ways to install, when done CORRECTLY. And *THAT* is true, if you consider my following points There ARE instances where one may be “SAFER” than the other: → Are you within the limits to install with the lower anchors? Most car seats and vehicles will put limits on up to what child weight this will be possible and/or the combined weight of the child and car seat together. ! Check BOTH your vehicle and car seat manuals for statements on this. → If you have the choice to install with either, does one give you a higher quality install? USE THAT! Some car seats install better with seat belts, and some install better with lower anchors. Some car seats could go either way without issue, but your vehicle may get a better install with a particular mode. It’s worth trying both and seeing what method installs best if you’re in this scenario. Did you know this? Did one method work better for your vehicle/car seat than the other? Share below!
