Emergency Child Care First Aid

The standard for child care first aid.
Emergency Child Care First Aid is an 8-hour training program that meets the requirements for child care workers in the province of British Columbia. Through hands-on training, this first aid course will give you confidence to respond effectively in an emergency in a child care setting.

What you'll learn

This basic one-day course is designed to introduce caregivers to injury prevention skills and knowledge. The course covers lifesaving first aid skills and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR and AED) for children, and babies.

NOTE: This course is currently only available as a private booking. For publicly offered certification courses, please check out our First Aid for the Infant and Toddler Years (CPR-C/AED) course.

  • $1200 + GST for 1-12 participants
  • $1500 + GST for 13-18 participants
  • Emergency Child Care First Aid with CPR-C, valid for 3 years with the Canadian Red Cross.

    Is this course suitable for working in a daycare?
    • If you’re working in a licensed child care facility: Yes, this course meets the Ministry of Children and Family Development’s guidelines for first aid training.
    • If you’re operating as a nanny for a family: check with the family before you register to see if this course is necessary. We often have nannies and other caregivers take our 5-hour course.
