Took the 2 hr infant/cpr class on March 11th at Nurture Collective in Parksville. The material was comprehensive, taught at a good pace with opportunities for questions, and allowed for lots of repetition and practice to create muscle memory. The teacher was experienced, knowledgeable and able and answer all questions asked. My Mom attended and had physical limitations that required modifications of nearly procedures and advice was provided for each. I would definitely recommend this for caregivers of young children.
Great course. I've taken a lot of first aid courses over the years and found Holly's teaching style to be much more memorable and relevant. The way she explains things and breaks it down is straight forward, tangible and appeals to your common sense, she also gives you cues to help you remember! Loved the course and even better loved that it was at home with friends!
I attended this course a few months ago and found it very interesting. I learned a lot and was even able to bring my 5 month old along. Today my daughter ended up choking on some food and it surpised me at how easily I was able to stay calm pick her up and do what I was taught. The food was out in seconds and she was a littlw shook up but okay. I dont even want to think about what would have happened if I did not part take in this class. I always thought Iwas supposed to just tap their backs, thankfully I was taught the proper way. So again thankyou, tonight you helped me save my daughter. ♡
I took Holly’s 2 hour infant/toddler CPR course this past week and brought my 6 month old son with me. Holly was an amazing instructor that went over repetition and personal stories which helped to make the information memorable. I feel confident that I could help an adult or child who was in need of CPR or choking. Many different scenarios were brought up in the course as well as other safety aspects including prevention of poisoning, burns, baby sleep, car seat safety which I’m thankful to have learnt!
Holly was excellent, very knowledgeable and made the two hour class fly by. I feel a lot more confident about my first aid skills for sure.
Fabulous, info packed course! 100% worth it!
My husband and I took the course this past week at Buy Buy Baby in Langley. Holly was very personable and professional and covered a lot of relevant information in the 2 hours. I found her very knowledgable, often citing current research and standards while also drawing on her own experience as a mom. I had re-taken my WorkSafe BC OFA Level 1 last year but wanted something more focused on infant care as we are expecting our first soon. I'm really glad we took this course. I found the explanations really resonated for me and the practicality was appreciated. Holly went over and above, we received an email info package before the course so I didn't feel pressure to take notes and remember everything. I would definitely recommend taking this course!
Great course! Needed the refresher, highly recommended! Jill Colpitts was very knowledgeable and helpful! Thanks Jill.
Excellent! Highly recommend this class. Up to date information and baby friendly environment. Thank you.
This course was so great! And it couldn't have come at a better time for us. After the course, we hadn't been home for more than 10 minutes, when someone started banging on our door...my husband rushed to answer and there on our doorstep was a neighbour...and she was choking!!! My husband immediately put to use the choking technique that Holly literally just taught us and was able to dislodge the item. He saved her life! Our neighbour was home alone and started choking so she ran outside and was banging on all the doors on our floor hoping someone was home. He said if she had come the day before he wouldn't have had the confidence to help her. Thank you Holly!!! From us AND our neighbour!!
Great class. Well laid out curriculum and well taught. Very thorough but not overwhelming. Highly recommend!
Jill is such an amazing instructor! Thank you for making the course so engaging!
I attended the 2 hour course in Salmon Arm yesterday. I am the Nana of infants and toddlers and was grateful to be able to attend a course in our community. It was most helpful! The course moved at a good pace, with time for questions and practice. Jill was knowledgable, energetic and respectful. I recommend this course.
I worked with Jill as a co-host for an event as well as taking her CPR-C/AED. I found the content well organized and EXTREMELY informative. Jill's teaching style is laid back, easy going and personable. I left the class feeling informed and confident. I would highly recommend Safe Beginnings to anyone looking for a solid CPR course
Great HCP-CPR course today with Jill! She made the material clear, straightforward and engaging. Great balance of theory and skills, I felt confident at the end of the day. Thank you!
My husband and I attended this course as expecting parents and found it very informative and useful. We would definitely recommend any new or expecting parent to take this course!
Holly did an awesome job teaching CPR and safety at the BuyBuyBaby in Langley. She was professional, yet friendly, and very thorough despite the class only being the 2 hour session. My husband and I walked away with a wealth of new knowledge and now feel comfortable in case of an emergency with young children and infants. Well worth the money.
I did a course with Holly this weekend. She is very knowledgeable and the class is very engaging. I really enjoyed myself and left feeling like I had learned a lot. I would definitely recommend the non-certified CPR/choking course to any parents or anyone who will be working or spending a lot of time with kids!
After taking this course we feel much better equipped to safely welcome our new baby into the world 🙂
Jill was was a great teacher. I am really glad I chose safe beginnings to get my Doula CPR training. I feel like I will be able to support families with what I learned today
