This course was so great! And it couldn't have come at a better time for us. After the course, we hadn't been home for more than 10 minutes, when someone started banging on our door...my husband rushed to answer and there on our doorstep was a neighbour...and she was choking!!! My husband immediately put to use the choking technique that Holly literally just taught us and was able to dislodge the item. He saved her life! Our neighbour was home alone and started choking so she ran outside and was banging on all the doors on our floor hoping someone was home. He said if she had come the day before he wouldn't have had the confidence to help her. Thank you Holly!!! From us AND our neighbour!!
I just finished the Safe Beginnings First Aid corse with Jill. She was clear and concise. The corse was easy to follow. Enough practice was done throughout the class to allow for memory of the content to form.
Loved this! I've been to many other first aid classes before and this one was extremely informative. Holly was a great instructor, she definitely has a knack for keeping everyone's attention on her and what's being taught. Thank you!
Very informative course. Holly was great. I feel a lot more knowledgeable bringing our child into this world now.
I attended this course a few months ago and found it very interesting. I learned a lot and was even able to bring my 5 month old along. Today my daughter ended up choking on some food and it surpised me at how easily I was able to stay calm pick her up and do what I was taught. The food was out in seconds and she was a littlw shook up but okay. I dont even want to think about what would have happened if I did not part take in this class. I always thought Iwas supposed to just tap their backs, thankfully I was taught the proper way. So again thankyou, tonight you helped me save my daughter. ♡
Holly's 2 hour baby CPR course was excellent. I certified as a lifeguard in my teen's (about 20 years ago), so I thought that I would remember the basic first aid skills required to help in a first aid scenario. However, not only did I not remember some of the important skills, but things have changed(!!). Holly's course covers all of the key skills and allows you to try them out, so you get a sense of what it may be like to do it yourself. The information is useful and practical, and you can ask all the questions. Thanks to Holly, I am feeling much more confident about the pending arrival of our first-born.
We wanted to learn some basic first aid skills before the arrival of our first baby, and Holly and Safe Beginnings First Aid class was exactly what we were looking for. She covers the basics from CPR to safe preventative practices around the house, and has excellent cues and descriptions to help you remember the tips, skills and techniques. I would recommend this to anyone with kids, expecting children, or wanting a refresher on first aid skills.
As a first time grandma I am so glad I went. Very informative and not just about infant first aid. I left feeling more confident in being able to assist with CPR and what to do with adults/babies choking. Everyone should start with this course.
I took Holly’s 2 hour infant/toddler CPR course this past week and brought my 6 month old son with me. Holly was an amazing instructor that went over repetition and personal stories which helped to make the information memorable. I feel confident that I could help an adult or child who was in need of CPR or choking. Many different scenarios were brought up in the course as well as other safety aspects including prevention of poisoning, burns, baby sleep, car seat safety which I’m thankful to have learnt!
Thank you for a great course in North Van Holly! Very informative and my partner managed to stay focused for the 4 hours which is a miracle!
We booked a private class for a group of friends and the caregivers of our children. The class was incredibly informative and gave us the confidence we needed to care for our children (and other adults!) in the scariest of instances. Holly’s passion and depth of knowledge kept us engaged the entire class. Every parent or caregiver NEEDS to take this class! Could not recommend it more.
I did a course with Holly this weekend. She is very knowledgeable and the class is very engaging. I really enjoyed myself and left feeling like I had learned a lot. I would definitely recommend the non-certified CPR/choking course to any parents or anyone who will be working or spending a lot of time with kids!
I attended the 2 hour course in Salmon Arm yesterday. I am the Nana of infants and toddlers and was grateful to be able to attend a course in our community. It was most helpful! The course moved at a good pace, with time for questions and practice. Jill was knowledgable, energetic and respectful. I recommend this course.
Excellent course and instructor, highly recommended!
Jill was was a great teacher. I am really glad I chose safe beginnings to get my Doula CPR training. I feel like I will be able to support families with what I learned today
Extremely well led class jam packed with useful info. We enjoyed it even after many years of being CPR certified. Took away useful info. Thanks Holly
Great and thorough training! Holly has been fabulous and went above and beyond to help us prepare for the safety of our child. The CPR and car seat safety lesson gave us reassurance and answered many of our questions. Highly recommended not just for first time parents but all parents and grandparents.
Jill is such an effective teacher and made our course really enjoyable and relevant!
Jill is such an amazing instructor! Thank you for making the course so engaging!
I took Safe Beginning's First Aid course specifically for doulas over the weekend. Jill is obviously very knowledgeable and relayed her expertise in an easy to follow and practical manner. There was lots of practical skills taught and we also had the opportunity to practice on each other and infant dolls. It was a great course and when I need to recertify, I'll look to Safe Beginnings first!
